Spring 2026 Move-In

Welcome to parents and families of new Spring Scholars and Transfer students who will be starting at Tulane in January 2026! We have several events and resources planned to acquaint you with university procedures and resources so you can support your student in their journey at Tulane:

Spring 2026 Move-In Logistics and Orientation Process Family Webinar 

Held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, 6 p.m. Central time, this webinar is available in our online archive

There will be two on-campus events specifically for families on your student's Move-In Day, 

Wednesday, January 7, 2026:

Family Resource Station, 2 – 4 p.m., Pedersen Lobby, 1st floor Lavin-Bernick Center 

Drop in to visit with the Office of Family Programs and a dozen other campus departments available to answer immediate questions and help you navigate resources. Participating departments include: Campus Health, Campus Recreation, Case Management and Victim Resources, College Advising, College Programs, Emergency Preparation and Response, Financial Aid, Student Accounts Receivable, Student Employment/HR, Technology Connection, Tulane Athletics, Tulane Hospitality (Dining), and Tulane University Police Department. 

Family Welcome Reception, 5 - 6 p.m., Kendall Cram Room, 213 Lavin-Bernick Center 

Join other parents and family members to mingle and enjoy light refreshments. Senior administrators and staff in key departments will be available to chat, answer questions, and help you get to know Tulane. Mollye Demosthenidy, Dean of Newcomb-Tulane College, and Sarah Cunningham, Vice President for Student Affairs, will offer a special welcome. Please RSVP here. 

As you make your travel plans, please remember:

  • Students have required orientation “Hullabaloo Hello” activities beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9. If you wish to spend time as a family exploring New Orleans, plan those activities before your student’s Move-In time. Housing and Residence Life will email students their move-in time slots in mid-December. Find more Move-In Information here.

  • The Tulane Travel Portal offers discounts at a collection of New Orleans hotels (both major chains and local, independent hotels) and three local bed and breakfast options. Click on the hotel or B and B logo to access its booking screen.
