Opportunities for Parent Involvement
Even though your student will become more independent and your role as a parent will evolve from manager to coach and supporter, that role is still important to play. We welcome your partnership with us in inspiring your students’ success at Tulane. There are many specific ways you can be involved at Tulane, including several you can do in your own hometown.
Host, Inspire, Hire: Volunteer with NTC Career Services
One of the best career resources that we can offer students is access to the vast network of successful Tulane alumni, parents, and families. You can participate in several ways, from mentorship during coffee chats and dinners, to participating in mock interviews, to hosting an intern or a Career Trek at your company. To find out more, please contact Eddy Cruz, Assistant Dean and Executive Director of Newcomb-Tulane College Career Services, ecruz@tulane.edu or visit our website.
Attend a Regional Tulane Club Event
Since parents are part of the Tulane family, we would love to see you at local events, which range from faculty lectures to crawfish boils! There are over 40 active Regional Clubs that span the globe. Each year over 15,000 Tulane alumni, parents and friends participate in a wide range of social, service, recreational, and networking events. Find out what's happening in your city here.
Support Undergraduate Admission Outreach
There are two opportunities for parents to support Undergraduate Admission outreach.
- Attend a regional “Tulane Comes to You” Information Session in the fall or an Admitted Student Event in the spring to share your Tulane parent perspective with prospective and admitted students and their families.
- Share your Tulane experience on a Parent Panel during an Admitted Student Visit Day on campus.

Host Tulane events in your hometown
Throughout the year, we often have many opportunities for hosting events – from small gatherings for new parents or prospective families to larger receptions featuring academic administrators. If you are interested in hosting an event for other Tulane parents in your area, contact Liz Schafer, Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts, Office of Advancement, lschafer@tulane.edu.
Support the Tulane Fund
The annual gifts of parents create extraordinary opportunities for undergraduate students. You can make an immediate impact on your student’s Tulane experience, from career services to study abroad programs. Your support plays a meaningful role in providing your student with a college experience available only at Tulane, only in New Orleans. To make a gift, visit giving.tulane.edu/parents or call 888-265-7576.
